Gabriele Carcano in recital in Torino

Gabriele Carcano will be back in "his" Torino to play in recital for the Unione Musicale with a program mainly dedicated to Beethoven (Sonata op.28 "Pastorale" and Sonata op.106 "Hammerklavier") and a work specifically composed for him by Matteo Manzitti.

Carcano's recital will be held on Wednesday 29 November (9.00 p.m.) at the Conservatorio Verdi in Torino.

DANIEL SMITH IN VALENCIA

Recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November Daniel Smith will make his conducting debut at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia with a gala concert involving the best singers of the Spanish Academy "Centre Plácido Domingo" and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.
The program will include some famous pages taken from Italian opera repertoire and, as conclusion, the final "concertato" from Act I of "Il Viaggio a Reims" by Gioachino Rossini, which Maestro Smith has successfully conducted a few years ago in Pesaro, birth city of the composer.

FLOR CONDUCTS MAHLER WITH ORCHESTRA VERDI IN MILAN

For his first concert in the 2017-2018 season as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Verdi in Milan, Claus Peter Flor has chosen one of the greatest work in the symphonic repertorie: Symphony n.9 by Gustav Mahler. 
For an Italian orchestra, Maestro Flor is indeed the best conductor to perform such a monumental piece of music with, as he is known as one of the most oustanding expert for the German repertoire. The concert will be held at the Auditorium in Milan on Thursday 23/11 (20.30), Friday 24/11 (20.00) and Sunday 26/11 (16.00)

Tito Ceccherini at the Festival d'Automne in Paris

After the recent successes at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Tito Ceccherini is back to Paris to conduct once again the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France for the oustanding Festival d'Automne with a program including music by Luigi Nono, Gerard Pesson and Claude Debussy.
Tito Ceccherini is considered one of the most eminent conductor for the XX century repertoire and the contemporary one and he is often invited to perform world premiere compositions.

DANIEL SMITH APPOINTED PRINCIPAL GUEST CONDUCTOR AT TEATRO CARLO FELICE IN GENOVA

During a press conference today in Genova, it has been annouced that Maestro Daniel Smith is appointed Principal Guest Conductor at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova.
As well as a very talented conductor, Daniel Smith is also Ambassador of Australian Culture in Italy.
The announcement has been made by Maurizio Roi, General Manager of the Theatre, at the presence of the Major of Genova, of Dr. Greg French, Australian Ambassador in Italy, and of Crispin Conroy, Consul General and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner.
Maestro Smith appointment is expected to help also the relationships between Italy and Australia, both cultural and commercial ones. More here.

BENEDETTO LUPO IN MADRID

On Friday 10th November, Benedetto Lupo will play in Madrid with the Orquesta Sinfónica RTVE conducted by Juanjo Mena, performing Maurice Ravel Concert for the left hand.
The concert, held at the Teatro Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Madrid, will be live broadcasted on Radio Clásica and later on Spanish TV channel TVE.

STANISLAV KOCHANOVSKY IN BRUXELLES

Friday night at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Bruxelles, Stanislav Kochanovsky will make his debut with the Orchestre National de Belgique with an extremely sophisticated program including works by Anton Webern and Zoltán Kodály, as well as György Ligeti Requiem and Johann Sebastian Bach Toccata and Fugue in d minor, BWV 565 transcripted for orchestra by Leopold Stokowski.

JOHN AXELROD WITH ORCHESTRA DELLA RAI

John Axelrod is back in Turin to conduct the Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai in a wonderful program, including some works of Leonard Bernstein, a real point of reference for the US conductor, and Sinfonia by Luciano Berio, composed 50 years ago and dedicated to Bernstein.
For the Berio piece, on the stage with Maestro Axelrod and the Orchestra RAI, The Swingles Singers, involved also in the very first performance in 1968.
The concert will be held at the Auditorium RAI on Thursday 2nd November as well as live broadcasted on Radio3 and then repeated on Friday 3rd November.

RESIA'S ARTISTS AT THE ECHO PRIZE 2017

On Sunday 29 October, seven Resia's artists will be awarded the Echo Prize Klassik 2017 in Hamburg.
Congratulations to Maurizio Pollini, Daniel Hope, Ksenjia Sidorova,
Renaud Capuçon, Fazil Say, Sabine Meyer, Quartetto di Cremona.
The awarding ceremony, held at the Elbphilharmonie, will include also a concert involving many of the winner artists (among them Maurizio Pollini, Ksenjia Sidorova and Daniel Hope).
The evening will be broadcasted live on German TV channel ZDF.

BENEDETTO LUPO AND THE PIANO CONCERTO

Tonight in Trieste will make its debut an extremly interesting project with Benedetto Lupo and the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, performing three piano concerts in just one evening. 
The idea is to explore the evolution of the piano concerto form, beginning with Concerto n.1 by Antonio Salieri, proceeding with Concerto K.459 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to end with Concerto n.2 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The project, extremly demanding especially for the pianist, will be held in different cities: on 23 October in Trieste, then in Cremona (16 January 2018), in Pavia (19 January 2018), in Mantova (27 February 2018).

TITO CECCHERINI AT TEATRO ALLA SCALA

Among the events of the 26° Festival Milano Musica, on Suday 22 October, Tito Ceccherini will make his debut at Teatro alla Scala to conduct the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala in a concert which includes the ouverture Manfred by Robert Schumann, The Miraculous Mandarin by Béla Bartók and, above all, La nuova Euridice secondo Rilke (for voice and orchestra) by Salvatore Sciarrino, whom the Festival is dedicated to as to celebrate the Italian composer 70th birthday. 
The concert will be also an homage to the memory of Claudio Abbado and Luciana Pestalozza and will be broadcasted live on Rai Radio3.
