DANIEL SMITH DEBUTS WITH MAGGIO MUSICALE IN FIRENZE

Daniel Smith begins his 2018 with an important debut conducting the Orchestra of Maggio Musicale in Firenze, with a program which includes also a piece written for orchestra and didgeridoo, an Australian traditional instrument played by William Burton, coauthor of the music inspired to an aboriginal song.
In the second part, Daniel Smith will conduct Shostakovich Symphony n.12, included in the "Shostakovich Cycle" planned by Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in this season.

New Representation: VALENTIN URYUPIN

We are glad to announce the representation of the young Russian conductor VALENTIN URYUPIN.

Winner in 2017 of the 8th International Conductor’s Competition Sir Georg Solti, Valentin Uryupin is an exceptional musician: not only is he a celebrated conductor, but as a clarinettist he has won more than 20 international competitions and performed worldwide.

His career is equally divided between the opera house and the symphonic stage.

Since 2011, Valentin Uryupin is resident conductor of the MusicaAeterna Orchestra at the Perm Opera, which was founded in 2004 by Teodor Currentzis and has since impressed audiences with numerous international guest appearances. He is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Rostov-on-Don Symphony Orchestra since 2015.

Our office represents Uryupin in United Kingdom, Italy (Canton of Ticino included), Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Australia and New Zealand.

Benedetto Lupo celebrates Claude Debussy

Deservedly considered one of the most prominent performer of the French repertoire, Benedetto Lupo is going to celebrate Claude Debussy hundredth death anniversary, commemorated in 2018.
Beginning in December 2017 (7 December in Macerata and 9 December in Firenze) and through all 2018, Benedetto Lupo will hold several recitals with a program totally dedicated to Debussy, playing the “Images” cycle (included the “oubliées” ones), “Estampes” and the "Second Suite Bergamasque”, originally thought by teh French composer as one piece and then pubblished in several works by different editors.
The program will therefore be a unique journey in the pianistic world of one of the greatest composers of all time.

Tito Ceccherini makes his debut in Ankara

A new important debut for Tito Ceccherini who will conduct for the first time the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra in Ankara, one of the most prominent Turkish symphonic orchestras (Saturday 9 December). The BSO is well-known also as UNICEF Turkey Goodwill Ambassador for its many humanitarian activities for children.
Tito Ceccherini and the BSO will perform an intense program entitled "The Sound of Nature", including Prokofiev Piano Concerto n.2 (soloist Vassilis Varvaresos) and Mahler Symphony n.1.

John Axelrod debuts with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra

After the recent successes in Torino with Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI and at the Operahouse in Florence with Traviata, John Axelrod is now ready to make his conducting debut with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd December). Maestro Axelrod will be conducting an engaging program, including some very famous works taken from John Williams' "Star Wars" soundtracks, introduced by a presenter and followed on the stage by a few galactic characters of the movies.
The Saturday concert (h 20.15) will be live broadcasted in stremaing.

Stanislav Kochanovsky conducts Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome

After the previous great success together, Stanislav Kochanovsky conducts once again the Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with a Russian program, entitled "Winter's Dreams", including Cajkovskij "Symphony n.1" and the rarly performed cantata "Le Campane" written by Rachmaninov during a holiday in Rome.

Gabriele Carcano in recital in Torino

Gabriele Carcano will be back in "his" Torino to play in recital for the Unione Musicale with a program mainly dedicated to Beethoven (Sonata op.28 "Pastorale" and Sonata op.106 "Hammerklavier") and a work specifically composed for him by Matteo Manzitti.

Carcano's recital will be held on Wednesday 29 November (9.00 p.m.) at the Conservatorio Verdi in Torino.

DANIEL SMITH IN VALENCIA

Recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November Daniel Smith will make his conducting debut at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia with a gala concert involving the best singers of the Spanish Academy "Centre Plácido Domingo" and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.
The program will include some famous pages taken from Italian opera repertoire and, as conclusion, the final "concertato" from Act I of "Il Viaggio a Reims" by Gioachino Rossini, which Maestro Smith has successfully conducted a few years ago in Pesaro, birth city of the composer.

FLOR CONDUCTS MAHLER WITH ORCHESTRA VERDI IN MILAN

For his first concert in the 2017-2018 season as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Verdi in Milan, Claus Peter Flor has chosen one of the greatest work in the symphonic repertorie: Symphony n.9 by Gustav Mahler. 
For an Italian orchestra, Maestro Flor is indeed the best conductor to perform such a monumental piece of music with, as he is known as one of the most oustanding expert for the German repertoire. The concert will be held at the Auditorium in Milan on Thursday 23/11 (20.30), Friday 24/11 (20.00) and Sunday 26/11 (16.00)

Tito Ceccherini at the Festival d'Automne in Paris

After the recent successes at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, Tito Ceccherini is back to Paris to conduct once again the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France for the oustanding Festival d'Automne with a program including music by Luigi Nono, Gerard Pesson and Claude Debussy.
Tito Ceccherini is considered one of the most eminent conductor for the XX century repertoire and the contemporary one and he is often invited to perform world premiere compositions.

DANIEL SMITH APPOINTED PRINCIPAL GUEST CONDUCTOR AT TEATRO CARLO FELICE IN GENOVA

During a press conference today in Genova, it has been annouced that Maestro Daniel Smith is appointed Principal Guest Conductor at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova.
As well as a very talented conductor, Daniel Smith is also Ambassador of Australian Culture in Italy.
The announcement has been made by Maurizio Roi, General Manager of the Theatre, at the presence of the Major of Genova, of Dr. Greg French, Australian Ambassador in Italy, and of Crispin Conroy, Consul General and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner.
Maestro Smith appointment is expected to help also the relationships between Italy and Australia, both cultural and commercial ones. More here.
