Javier Comesaña Barrera


Defined by the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung as “an open-minded and intelligent musician, able to find new ways of music making”, Javier Comesaña is the winner of the VI International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists and the Prinz von Hessen-Preis, given by the Kronberg Academy. Also he is a Laureate of the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition. His former teachers are Yuri Managadze and Sergey Teslya. He made his bachelor at the Reina Sofia High School of Music in Madrid, under the teaching of the italian maestro Marco Rizzi, and also increased his knowledge in masterclasses led by Mihaela Martin, Silvia Marcovici, Miriam Fried and Christoph Poppen, amonsgt others. He was distinguished in 2019 and 2021 as the Most Outstanding student of his chair. As a chamber music player, he has performed with many different formations in halls like the National Auditorium of Music, Teatro Real and Casino de Madrid.
