Simone Rubino

Simone Rubino, who brilliantly won the ARD-Musikwettbewerb in 2014 and received the Crédit Suisse Young Artists Award at the Lucerne Festival in 2016, is part of a new era of percussionists who have established themselves in the classical concert world. He is committed to expanding the percussion repertoire and collaborates with composers such as Carlo Boccadoro, Avner Dorman, Adriano Gaglianello and Aziza Sadikova.

In the 2019/20 season, Rubino will perform Dorman's “Eternal Rhythm”, which he premiered in 2018 with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, at the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest and with Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini. Simone Rubino's passion for new repertoire will also be reflected in the premiere of Boccadoro's percussion concerto “L'elettricità dei sogni”, which will take place in February 2020 with the Orchestra della Toscana and Daniele Rustioni in Florence.
