Debut at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg

On Sunday 23/09 the Quartetto di Cremona will make its own debut at the prestigious Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, in occasion of an event dedicated to chamber music.
The Quartetto di Cremona will perform Schubert String Quintet with cellist Eckart Runge, with whom they have just completed a brand new recording dedicated to Schubert.
Th double CD will be released by Audite in Spring 2019.

THE QUARTETTO DI CREMONA AT THE UNITED NATIONS IN GENEVA

This evening at the United Nations Palace in Geneva, the Quartetto di Cremona will be playing Beethoven and Chausson in a concert included in the celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the Human Rights Declaration.
The event is realized in collaboration with the Nippon Music Foundation which has given on loan to the ensemble the wonderful set of instruments known as the "Paganini Quartet", made by Antonio Stradivari and beloned to Niccolò Paganini.

After Geneva, the Quartetto di Cremona will play in Venice, in Albania, in Seoul and in Japan.

RELEASED THE QUARTETTO DI CREMONA BEETHOVEN BOX

Two years of intense work and eight CDs: here it is the Quartetto di Cremona Beethoven Box which collects the complete recordings of Ludwig van Betehoven String Quartets made by the Cremona and issued by the German label Audite.
The Beethoven Box is indeed an outstanding achivement in the ensemble career, considered the most rappresentative Italian string quartet all over the world.
The eight volumes have alreday gained the praise of the international critics as well as a few important prizes such as Echo Klassik 2017 (volume n.7) and ICMA 2018 (volume n.7 and n.8).

Quartetto di Cremona wins the ICMA 2018 Awards

On Friday 6th April in Katowike took place the ICMA 2018 Awarding Ceremony with our Beethoven Volume n.7 and Volume n.8 winning this prestigious prize.

Here the Jury's motivation of the award: "These interpretations are powerful, vibrating, excitingly intense and inspiring from the very first to the very last note, providing decisive proof of Quartetto di Cremona's overwhelming technical capacity and fantastic musicianship".

Many thanks to Audite for this fascinating journey together.

STRING QUARTET BIENNALE AMSTERDAM

Beginning on Saturday 27 January, the first edition of the "String Quartet Biennale" in Amsterdam will take place at the prestigious Muziekgebouw, which will host concerts, lectures and masterclasses dedicated to the string quartet world.
Among the ensambles invited to the first edition of the Festival, also Quartetto di Cremona, Emerson String Quartet, Hagen Quartet and Quartetto Quiroga.

For a whole week Amsterdam will be the capital city of the string quartet.

KRYSTIAN ZIMERMAN AND QUARTETTO DI CREMONA AWARDED WITH ICMA 2018

Congratulations to Krystian Zimerman and Quartetto di Cremona, awarded with the ICMA 2018 (International Classical Music Awards).
Krystian Zimerman wins the prize in the category "solo instrument" with his latest CD dedicated to Schubert (DG).
The Quartetto di Cremona is awarded in the category "chamber music" for both Volume N.7 and N.8 of their Beethoven Cycle (Audite).
The Award Ceremony and Gala Concert will take place on April 6 at the magnificent concert hall of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio in Katowice, conducted by Alexander Liebreich.

RESIA'S ARTISTS AT THE ECHO PRIZE 2017

On Sunday 29 October, seven Resia's artists will be awarded the Echo Prize Klassik 2017 in Hamburg.
Congratulations to Maurizio Pollini, Daniel Hope, Ksenjia Sidorova,
Renaud Capuçon, Fazil Say, Sabine Meyer, Quartetto di Cremona.
The awarding ceremony, held at the Elbphilharmonie, will include also a concert involving many of the winner artists (among them Maurizio Pollini, Ksenjia Sidorova and Daniel Hope).
The evening will be broadcasted live on German TV channel ZDF.

QUARTETTO DI CREMONA

A moment of important achivements and recognitions for the Quartetto di Cremona who has now the opportunity to play the "Paganini Quartet" by Antonio Stradivari, loaned by the  Nippon Music Foundation and once owned by Nicolò Paganini.
The first concert with the four wonderful Strads was in Hamburg (29 September) at the oustanding Laeiszhalle, where the Quartetto di Cremona has seduced the pubblic with an "Italian Journey" program.
At the moment the ensemble is on tour in India and at the end of October (29/10) will attend the awarding ceremony of the Echo Klassik 2017 (Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg), as winner of the prize for the best chamber music recording (XIX century repertoire) awarded to volume N.7 of the Beethoven cycle, recently completed with the German label Audite.

QUARTETTO DI CREMONA AND BEETHOVEN VOLUME 8

It is alaready a success the latest CD of the Beethoven cycle (volume N.8) recordered by the Quartetto di Cremona for the German label Audite.
Pizzicato Magazine considers it "engaging until the last note" and states that the "Quartetto di Cremona finishes their outstanding Beethoven cycle with vibrant and highly passionate performances", giving to volume 8 the Supersonic Award.
Certainly another good news for the Italian ensemble after being awarded with the prize Echo Klassik 2017 for volume n.7.

QUARTETTO DI CREMONA AT THE BUSONI PIANO COMPETITION

For the first time, in the 2017 edition of the outstanding Buson Piano Competition one of the six semifinalists has been assigned a special prize for the best chamber music performance, awarded by the Quartetto di Cremona.
After two intense rounds followed by many people both in the hall and in web streaming, the Quartetto di Cremona awarded the young Russian pianist Anna Geniushene, who has been then ammitted to the Competition final, held in Bolzano on 1 September.

QUARTETTO DI CREMONA WINS ECHO KLASSIK 2017

Quartetto di Cremona wins the prize Echo Klassik 2017 for Volume N.7 of the Ludwig van Beethoven string quartets cycle, realised by the German label Audite.
It's the first time in the history of the prize, awarded by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (Federal Music Industry Association), that an Italian string quartet wins for the best recording in the section "chamber music of the XIX century" and, more over, for the performance of a German composer. 
Volume N.7 was already recognized as one of the best recording by the Quartetto di Cremona, awarded with the Supersonic Award by Pizzicato Magazine and getting a wonderful review on The Strad. The last CD of the cycle (volume 8) will be realised in September 2017 and presented in Germany on 29/09 while the Quartetto di Cremona will be playing at the Laeisz Halle in Hamburg.

STANDING OVATION IN AMSTERDAM FOR QUARTETTO DI CREMONA

Standing ovation for the Quartetto di Cremona in Amsterdam for the debut at the Concertgebouw on 18 July.
The audience particoulary apprecieted their performance of Beethoven op.132, with huge applauses at the end of the concert and after the encore.
Many people waited for the four musicians to ask autographs and to congratualte direclty with then for the wonderful concert.
