Recensioni del nuovo CD dedicato a Dvorak

The Pavel Haas Quartet’s new recording of Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No.2 with Boris Giltburg and the String Quintet Op.97 with Pavel Nikl has been chosen as Diapason d’Or’s ‘Album of the Month’ for February. The magazine writes:

“It is difficult to overestimate their expressive intensity and opulent sound production, both of which lend a touch of the symphonic to the piece…Robust or lyrical, rounded or trenchant, tenderly bucolic or tempestuous, the musicians embrace and revel in it all.”

Seven years after their triumph with the Dvořák quartet recording (Gramophone Recording of the Year), the quartet have returned to Dvořák and critics are exuberant in their praise of this new recording:

“These superlative performances should not be missed.”
BBC Music Magazine
, Recording of the Month

“I'm afraid I find myself running out both of superlatives and also of synonyms for the word "excellent".
Presto Classical, Recordings of the Year

“Another Pavel Haas Quartet disc, another triumph.”
Gramophone, Best Recordings in 2017

“This recording stands apart for its singing lines, its sheer warmth of engagement, and its exhilarating rhythmic drive”
Boston Globe, Best Classical Albums 2017

“The playing is breathtakingly good, each performer maintaining their own personality and yet working together to conjure a special magic. Highly recommended.”
